A symphony orchestra from Moskow, called the 'Kremlin Orchestra', performed on the ruins of the theatre of Ukrainian city Mariupol, a beautiful 19C building which was bombed to pieces by the Russian army, killing hundreds of innocent civilians (including women and children) who had sought refuge therein, but who found their mass grave in one of the many war crimes happening in this absurd and entirely unnecesary war.
How to read this event? A gesture of reconciliation? or of triumphalism? Judging the obvious intentions of the Russian government, the latter conclusion seems the most likely. Any way, it is one of the most despiccable forms of recruting culture to make a statement amidst atrocities which appear from prehistoric, insane violent instincts.
